How to import hand histories into PokerTracker 4

In this tutorial we want to give you a quick guide to set up PokerTracker 4 with our hand histories.

Run PokerTracker 4. Click the Play Poker button.


There are two ways to import hands.
1. Manual hand import - You can import the hand histories manually
2. Auto hand import - PokerTracker periodicaly imports hands from a set of directories

1. Manual hand import (recommended way)

Click Get Hands From Disk.


You can import specific file(s) or a whole directory.


In this tutorial we are going to import a few files. Click Select Files and a new dialog shows up. Select the files you want to import and click Open.


Click OK to confirm and start the import.


You can watch the import progress in the bottom left corner.


2. Auto hand import

Before i start to explain the setup of the auto import folders let me explain that it's not suggested to set your hand histories destination directories as auto import folders.
Depending on the number of sites, game, stake etc. you are subscribed to you may receive a huge amount of hand histories every day.
The problem with the auto import folders is that they're used by the HUD, too. This means your HUD will have to process all the files which is unnecessary. It can even make your HUD to freeze.
For the sake of completeness we are going to mention that option here, too.

Notice the Poker Sites & Networks on the left.


Click the Configure button below the list of poker sites.


The Import Configure dialog shows up. Click the Site Configuration button.


Select desired poker network from the list on the left (for example FullTilt). Take a closer look at the Directory Configuration section. Click on the small three dot button to open a folder browse dialog.


Choose a folder and click Select Folder to confirm.


Click OK to confirm the changes.


Repeat the previous steps for any other poker site.
